Text details provided by architects. In the heart of 19th Ardisement ParisA separate site surrounded by blocks of flats and towers is renewed. The Atellier Associar converted the 1970s Gene Quare Upper Secondary Hospitality School into a media library and a refugee house. The high cultural and social value of the chosen brief is unique in the world. This incorporates a place dedicated to the integration of a neighborhood cultural feature and integration of deported people in the area of Paris. The media library is included in the four media libraries in the city of Paris, which has a “center for deaf” to welcome the public with sign language. The refugee house brings all aspects of the path of refugees together for integration under a roof under a roof, in a place of encounter and sharing.
Relating of the existing structure – pre -secondary school structures are preserved, cleaned, and asbestos is removed. Pre -made elements such as reinforced concrete posts, beams, floors and front panels were renewed. A selective disintegration of concrete floors, walls and front panels was made, in which cut-off pieces were placed on the site for reusing. This process restored the regularity of the structure and improved the quality of the exposed reinforced concrete. As a result, an ideal place for a media library and welcome center has been created.
Space open for air and natural light – the project is a bioclaimatic design, which draws on useful resources for proper functioning in its environment. Now sophisticated existing structure enjoys the increased penetration of natural light. The exposed structure provides soft surfaces and rich texture, and provides inertia suitable for better regulation of internal temperature. The entire project also provides natural and hygiene ventilation, namely through the formation of an air with the interior, double-hit hopper and garden in the courtyard.
Taking a link made of wood and inserted earth – taking a ecological responsible approach, the architects have fully renewed the current situation, with a new construction with a new construction with new construction made of biosor and “geosked” material. Buildings, square media library, and long refugee houses are attached to a vertical volume, called “the link”, which serves various levels and spaces of these two establishments. The walls of this without wood are made up of the prefabricated Earth, which guarantees thermal inertia and regulated humidity. A wooden mentilla link also serves as a high-protection sun filter. Hospitality – Tall post and beam structure provides a welcome location for refugees and residents to enjoy beverages, French learning and cook. It has huge areas and diverse places with specially designed sounds for everyone’s comfort. A long roof facing the south provides access to the moment of relaxation and a shared garden.
Landscape and biodiversity – The project reversed waterproofing at 70% of many surfaces. The open ground is visible everywhere, in the courtyard in the center of the media library, on the forecourt, shared gardens, shared gardens and refugees on the roof of the house. The attempt to combat the urban heat island effect is conducted through the implementation of increased green surfaces, light colored ground covers (recycled concrete slabs and stable sand), and a shallow pool between shared garden and shade garden.
