Inflation increased slightly on an annual basis in May

Inflation increased A little more in May this month was above the target rate of the Federal Reserve before the next meeting of the Central Bank.

On Wednesday, Labor Statistics said that consumer price Index (CPI) – A comprehensive remedy of everyday goods such as gasoline, grocery items and rental costs – 0.1% increased in May compared to last month, while it was up 2.4% on an annual basis.

Those figures were slightly cooled compared to the estimates of economists voted by LSEG, while the annual CPI stood by 2.3% a month earlier.

The so -called core prices, which exclude more volatile measurements of gasoline and food to better assess the price increase trends, were below an estimate of 0.3% and 2.9% of both economists respectively and 2.8% on an annual basis.

This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.
