Who does not like a good cleaning hack? Especially when it comes to domestic work, I am ready to try anything that gives me more time to focus on my family or hobby.
So when i saw it Cleaning hack To remove stains on my couch on Tikok, I knew that I would have to try it. Our furniture is staining with a child at home these days, and I have used a lot of traditional methods to get out the stains (dish soap, baking soda, oxiclane, you name it). My sofa (miraculously) did not have any visible stains, so I decided to try this on my rocking reclineer in nursery. It was a black stain on the right which I had not yet treated.

I wanted to do slightly pre -pre -preparation to increase the possibility of good results. I started by vacuuming the chair when there was a loose dirt and dust. Then, I put a dishwashing pod in a bowl and filled it with warm water.

After some scrub, the stain began to fade. I let it sit for a few minutes and return to dub on the stain with another towel moist with plain water and to ‘rinse’ any remaining soap. Then, I dubbed the stain with a dry towel to soak the excess water.

It took some time to dry the place on my chair completely, but once it did, the stain went mostly. Fabrics also do not feel rigid or sticky with remains, something that I was worried about. Overall, it seems that Hack worked!

final thoughts
While this method works and my chair looks better – I will not do it again. The solution from the dishwasher pod was very strong for cleaning out Simple stain And 1 or 2 tablespoons dish soap and water may have been equally effective.
If I did not dilute the solution and went back to the stain with clean water, I think there would be soaps and residues left on the cloth.
This hack does not seem that it will be a great option for cleaning complete upholstery. The high soap content can ruin the fabric, and the lid scrubbing method wrapped with a towel does not give you much control over how much liquid to use, leaves you with a wet piece of furniture.
Next time, I will stick to a simple cloth or sponge so that you can easily get it out and prevent it from being excessively wet.
