I just celebrated holidays without Instagram and I wish I would do it soon

For about half March, I was away from work on a family holiday. We took a cruise through Spain, Morocco and Portugal. It was a cute time, and I used myself Google Pixel 9 Pro – Easily one Best camera phone You can currently buy – to document the entire journey. All the pictures you seen in this article have come from the phone!

Typically, many photos and videos I shot on this trip must have ended on my Instagram profile. However, for reasons I will not be disturbed by going into it (although I am sure that most Americans would know that it would be known), I closed all my meta-owned accounts earlier this year. It has created this cruise holiday for the first time in the last decade that I have gone on a huge journey and have not posted on Instagram or even social media about my experience.

But do you know what? This surprisingly made the journey so better.

Sending media to specific people is very satisfying

Because I did not have Instagram as “dumping ground” for everything shot during the journey, I communicated directly with friends and family instead. It ended due to being much more satisfying than posting things and liking a handful of things.

For example, during a tour by cruise ship, we visited a winery in Madira (now one of my favorite places I have ever seen). I have friends who are wine-makers in New York, so we sent them some shots related to the winery because they are very interested in it. We also came to many cats on our journey. In Cádiz, there is actually a stray cat colony on a beach, which is completed with small houses manufactured by local people for cats. We took a lot of pictures of these cats and sent them to friends and family, whom we love to see the kitty, and they all appreciated them.

This habit completely changed the way I documented my journey. Instead of choosing or proving it, how great the Pixel 9 Pro camera is, I just shot those things that I knew that specific people would share them directly and share them. This allows for many benefits, such as what was happening to me in that moment Now Instead of worrying about how to capture that moment for the audience later. It also added me again to those with whom I have not communicated with some time, which is always a good thing. Finally, it contacted the people I approached, because I was taking them out, rather than that they were only posting a picture and hope that they would see it installing it. Who can argue that what you feel good is not a terrible thing?

Taking a photo and posting it at zero is not almost as satisfactory as sending it to a specific person, which you know will be appreciated.

There was another benefit for this: there was no need to spend time to craft social materials. When I send a picture of a wonderful food that I am eating my food friends, I don’t have to think about maximizing the hashtag, filter, or engagement, nor do I need to decide, “Is this a story or grid post?” I just shoot the shot, give a good message, and send it so that I can return to leave quickly. After a while, I did not understand why I ever spent so much time to worry about social media.

I remember the disadvantage of potential reactions from others, though

A negative side for this is that people in my life who I did not give the message, they did not get to see anything. While Instagram has its very notable and well -recorded problems, there is no denying that it allows you to connect with people in ways that are not really possible without it (or without a uniform social stage). For example, my kitty paintings can also be appreciated by those whom I do not know well that they are enough to know they are cats. If I shared those pictures on Instagram, the person could have engaged, and then I would know, “Oh, so-end-you are also a cat!” I remembered that.

Although I know that most people would not like to accept it, I also recalled the serotonin reaction to see something posted to like something. Yes, I know that the Internet points are very hollow, but I will lie if I don’t say that it is nice to post and many people answer it positively. Without Instagram, I was getting positive reactions, of course, but not on the same scale, so that it is not the same zing as before.

I hate accepting it, but I remembered by liking it very much. I looked great to see people like my photos.

Finally, I think what I really want is a hybrid of these two things. During the journey, I do not want to worry about social media. I want to live in the moment and share what I experience with those with whom I am really close. But I want to be able to share experiences more widely with those I am not as close, and what is it really on Instagram.

This is not enough to bring me back my Instagram account, but it hopes me i hope Glow – Instagram clone is coming soon Blue sky – is a hit. I like a photo-sharing platform, which I can feel good about participating. Till then, however, traveling without Instagram no longer looks so wild. If you are a frequent Instagram user, try to leave it on the next trip taken by you. I think you will enjoy yourself too much.
