Angela Wanich, co-founder and chief product officer of Little Spoon, has completely revolutionized the children’s nutrition. With a keen eye to spot the unused markets, the journey of Vranich in the food industry was not linear at all.
While studying business in college, Vranich did not just hit books – he also established a nationwide biological food marketing company among classrooms. His passion for organic foods took him through a post-college stent in television production, which he quickly realized that she was not calling her. Returning to her roots, she moved to San Francisco to join her then lover (now husband and co-founder of Little Spoon), who ran a biological food distribution company. She again drowned in a world of fresh, durable foods. This was when Vranich saw a great difference in the market: Baby Food.
In the mid-2010s, fresh, biological products were booming–Saras, and even dog meals were receiving petu makeover. Nevertheless, the baby food isal remained stable, the dominance of the shelf-site jar unchanged for decades. Vranich saw the opportunity to disrupt this stable space with fresh-cake, organic baby’s food to suit modern families. In 2017, he co-install Little spoon, which is a direct-consumer brand, providing nutritious, thoughtful food for children and children.
The reaction was electric. Little spoon sold one million meals in its first year, proving that parents were hungry for healthy, more convenient options. Since then, the brand has expanded beyond baby food to offer food for children up to the age of 10, from nutrient-pack puree to child friendly plates. With more than 35 million meals, Little Spoon has become a domestic name, a combination of science-supported nutrition with flavor children’s love.
