Heavy Le Men’s Mercedes Crashs Iron Links to replace chassis


Iron The team has been forced to replace Chassis on its #63 Mercedes-AMG LMGT3. Stephen Grove 24 -hour opening practice in Le Mans.

This was a hard beginning for Mercedes’ first Le Mans appearance since 1999 as the event Ruki Grove was caught on his first appropriate push lap and in about 75 minutes in the session, Dunlop had barely crashed into obstacles in chicken.

The work is now complete to enable #63 car that Grove shares with his son Brenton and Factory Driver Luca Stollase To return to action in Thursday’s FP3.

Grove SR admitted that he was caught by warm conditions and was a little difficult to push.

“As I went to the corner with the same lines, the same amount of throttle, the same lift, I just lost and it just fell,” he told Motorsport.com.

“As the car was slipping, and because it was my first lap, I did not fully understand the circumstances and how far the track was.

“In the handicides, I probably should have brought the lift a little back. It was in another partition. And it is a problem with a GT3 car, when they let go, they let them go.

“It’s unfortunate, it affects you mentally, you are back in the car today and are constructing and going back.”

There was further tingling to open the qualifying for the iron links squad when Andrew Gilbert stayed on the track at the middle of the session in #60 Mercedes, Vandal revealed that a failure with fueling equipment means a failure that the insufficient fuel was put into the car.

However, WENDL was progressed by Mercedes who progressed for Hyperpol for the first time since the 2025 WeC season. Lin Hodenius #61 in the machine, which was the 11th fastest.
