Article by Josh Thomas
The first quarter-free quarter in several weeks was not enough to inspire Hamilton Tiger-Cats for a 2–0 Presiden Record on Toronto Argonatts.
Argos, after finding his feet in the second half, defeated Tiger-Cats 30–23 at Alumni Stadium in Gulef, Ontario. Hamilton placed Toronto for three digits in the first half, but could not use a strong defensive game to create a lead.
Toronto woke up in the third, placed a long touchdown drive together and followed it with an explosive 70-yard run by Zayran Mitchell and placed it fourth in 17–17. Argos took the lead on 10-yard touchdown pass on 10-yard touchdown pass with 8:26 from Tucker Horn to Calvin Turner Junior and never looked back again.
Here I have thoughts on the game.
Sprinkle out of the gate
Hamilton picked up where he left for the defensive side of the ball, holding Argos at a distance of 141 yards of total crime in the first half. He allowed his first point of the night, 38-yard field goals from Lirim Hajrilahu’s leg, 24 tick in the second quarter. Toronto published seven of his eight drives to start the game.
Linebacker Qwuantrezz Knight received his coach’s attention in his second game with tabis, raising two tackles and seven total defensive tackles for a loss. He shared the team lead with Canadian Defense Peeth Patrick Burke Junior. They are encouraging the signs going in regular season.
Vairesuk’s chase again affects
If the first magnificent special team of Devin Veraceuk tackles last week, they would not have enough to earn a place on the Tikats Game-Day roster, their second.
In the 2025 CFL drafts and Windsor Lancers product, the second overl pick up the entire ground to get his hands on Turner Junior on a pant return in the second quarter. Despite being a bad hard -handed recipient, Veresuk recovered a shosting to tackle. They have an impact on defense with a dealing for a loss. I would be surprised that if we do not see him too much in this season.
Veraceuk picked up CFL draft boards after an extraordinary performance at the university at Buffalo Pro Day, where he recorded a 36-inch vertical, 124-inch wide jump, 4.47-second-six-yard dash, 4.47-second small shuttle, and a 7.19-second-con drill. He also started 225 pounds on the bench press 27 times.
The 23 -year -old was a standout at Windsor University, where he recorded a inter -collecting games with 199 total tackle, 15.5 tackle for losses, 11 sacks, two forced abbals, and 22 collegiate games with lanskers. He was twice called the other team All-OA.
Ticats hopes that he has found an impact player for the coming years in Veraceuk. So far, so good two games in your CFL career.
Coverage teams should be better
Vishal pant or kick returns often set games in CFL. A time returning to a touchdown may bring back a team from the verge or it can act as a knockout punch.
Although the 70-yard run finally allowed Argos to control the competition, they were lucky that Toronto did not snatch the speed with a big comeback. If not for the versuk’s shosting tackle, the tucker junior could have been kept back to the return to another quarter. Both Deonta McMahon and Turner had several other opportunities to break one and break one.
Hamilton’s coverage teams gave a lot of room to Toronto and a lot of open streets in the return game overnight. Cats will need to clean this aspect of their game before the season opener. This did not burn them as badly as it could be against Toronto, but if it would be left uncontrolled.
Crime cannot be quick
Seven points are not quite good when your protecting you keep a team for 0 marks for the first 29 minutes of the first half of the first half.
I am not so concerned about the inability to mount a return win under the stretch because I was with the failure of the initial crime to put this one on the bed. It was clear that both teams were receiving many players to use the second half as they could play a little game. However, this is impossible, ignoring the trend set in a row for the second week, by the tickets passing out of the gate.
Taylor Powell finished a skilled 11 -16 at night, with 113 yards and two touchdowns raised for Kiton Brugling. Gavin Hardison came and picked up a touchdown at a distance of 101 yards and on his first drive of the night, but could not provide his second time a game-hang drive. In all it was not a terrible outing for the passing game, they changed it very late.
Powell had a touchdown pass in the first half, but it was the only game of matter through the wind and was installed by a long traceun ward run. Before ward braking free, Hamilton did not have a crime. One or two and continuous drive argos could have ended in the digits. Instead, both teams came out of the locker room.
If cats go to Calgary and play aggressively well, no one will remember a couple of down-to-high presence. Nevertheless, being unable to join the 2024 opener and unable to join the passing game Early Hamilton in Calgary in incompatibility, there has been a problem for his crime in the past. We have seen them not firing on all cylinders this season and now the dress rehearsal is over. I will definitely keep an eye on the passing game in Calgary.
Bright place
One thing Hamilton can take away from this game, Kiton is a performance of brurgleling. He scored his second major score of late competition in the second half, helping to shut down the five-recandage, 85-yard at night. Bruggeling had a nose to open and remembered several argos in space. He picked up a demon at a distance of 56 yards after contact on the day.
A six-foot-three, 225-pound receiver, Burgugaling spent three seasons with Ottawa Redblack, but limited in their use, playing in eight, 10 and 13 games respectively. He was targeted only 12 times in Ottawa, eight receptions for 83 yards and a touchdown before signing with Hamilton in February.
Bruggeling raised more yards and touchdown on Saturday, as he did throughout his tenure with Redblack. He will have trouble cracking the top five of Hamilton, but should provide excellent depths.
Back shoulder beauty
Hardison is good to get good game and carry one of Hamilton’s only shots downfield. Some play in their CFL career, Hardison found matte landers with a grand back shoulder throw, where only the receiver could achieve it. Landers was surrounded by a sea of argonott DBS.
He later closed the drive by threw a strike between the tray’hun Harrison to cut the lead of Toronto by 27-23. Hardison finished 9-15 with a long time of 101 yards, a touchdown and 67.
On Calgary
Tiger-Kat now attracts his attention to Calgary Stampders before the season opener next Saturday, June 7. Hamilton divided the season series with Calgary in the previous season, losing 32–24 to open the 2024 campaign but caused Calgary to be given a 42–20 defeat in his most recent meeting. The kickoff from McMahon Stadium in Calgary is set for EDT at 7:00 pm.
