Google TV as the future of Gemini Smart Display

I think Google may have shared the future of the smart display, or at least a development of form factor, earlier this year CES: on Google TV.

Google’s original successor was finding Android Tablet with Dock. The Pixel Tablet is coming two years after the 2021 Nest Hub (2-Je)-and four years after the 2019 Nest Hub Max-Timeline fit. Meanwhile, the device that eventually became the pixel tablet was quickly described as nest hub with a dockable tablet form factor in the development process.

It is not clear whether we will see another pixel tablet In near futureIt’s a shame because full Android experience, such as Glenceable Lockscreen widget For music and Google Home, the old smart display easily defeats the software. Meanwhile, Google definitely hit something by giving the tablet a permanent place, when it was not in use.

The major aspect of the smart display (vs. speakers) is the ability to take the surface to the surface to do anything without users. On the current nest hub, the appearance sensation can switch to the card of the card on the approach to the clock. There is also important ability to show photos when not in use and not being in calls), as well as increase the results spoken (such as showing weather forecasting).

In JanuaryGoogle showed how a smart TV running can be handled by Android.

Google highlighted an ambient mode with weather, calendar, recent photos, safety camera feed and even widgets for news. It appears to be “on-screen hub”-switching away from the photo-When you are near thanks to the proximity sensor that are connecting future televisions.

All materials, especially photos and videos, look better on a large screen. Meanwhile, TVs with built -in cameras or accessories that easily connect seem unavoidable in the future.

In terms of other smart displays/speaker capabilities, the upcoming Google TV models are adding far-field microphones for voice command without remote.

Google showed a Gemini-Interactive Google assistant that can communicate interactively answers questions and include YouTube videos in their reactions. (I think the smart display will get a similar experience, today only with testing for speakers.) Meanwhile, when you are searching to see something, more natural questions expand. Ultimately, Android/Google TV-Interactive Nature is easy for development.

Most people have television and adding an environment experience to that existing screen seems unavoidable.

However, there are clear methods that televisions do not work directly as successors.

Lack of touch control with a UI that naturally provokes you to tap, is slightly limited, but can be solved by a Gemini live and/or estra-tier voice control experience. However, it still takes away from being able to control your smart house quietly by just exploiting.

Today’s smart displays allow you to keep a small screen around your home. It is unlikely that television will ever reach that omnipresent, even from just one size point of view. This requires many smart displays, in which TV expects new flagships and expectations in the middle.
