Google loses a $ 314 million case on data transfer when Android phone is inactive

Google lost a class action suit against it in California – the suit 2019 was filed by the people of the estimated 14 million California and a $ 800 million was damaged on Android phone, which was inactive to collect and transmit data to Google.

The jury biased with the plaintiff and honored him $ 314.6 million (this almost PI!). More especially, Android phones collected data that will be used for targeted advertising and it will be transmitted to the server of Google on cellular data – at the expense of the owner of the phone.

Google will appeal to this decision as it claims that users were not harmed by these data transfer and when they agreed to Google’s service and privacy policies, users agreed to this. A spokesman for the company said the decision “misunderstanding services that are important for safety, performance and credibility of Android equipment”.

Another group has filed a separate lawsuit, this time from Android users in other 49 American states – this test will begin in April.
