On the surface, the recently declared X-E 5 of the Fujifilm looks like a very familiar setup in a new body. Its combination of 40MP BSI CMOS sensor and processor has shown in many previous fujifilm cameras, such as X-T5, X-T50, X-H2 and X100VI. Theoretically, this means that it should provide very similar results, but since we prefer perfectly, we put a production copy in front of our test view so that we can ensure.

Our Test scene is designed to follow the scene Different types of textures, color and expansion types will cope in the real world. It also has two light mode, full light and low directional light to see the effects of various lighting conditions.

As expected, the raw expansion of the X-E5 is similar to other 40mp cameras of the capture Fujifilm, and it improves 24MP Nikon Z5II and 26MP Sony A6700. Its images have more expansion than people of the X-E4, the anterior to 26MP.

Its base ISO noise performance is equal to the rest of the current-Je-Je APS-C competition, and it is a little cleaner than the X-E4; No surprise, given that its base is the ISO 125, while its predecessors were 160. The full-frame Z5ii, however, provides a stop around the noise, which follows its increased sensor area.

These trends continue in the middle of the high ISO, and the X-E5 lead ISO slipped around the 1600.

The JPEG engine of the camera is not quite good as its contestants in emphasizing exact details, even on the base ISOS, so its leadership is not as clear as it is in raw. However, it continues the tradition of offering the pleasant colors of the phujifilm and does a good job of maintaining the details even while reducing the noise in high ISOS, although its performance suffers slightly in less-contrasting areas.

dynamic range

This sensor has always offered excellent dynamic range with low-reading noise, and it is no different in X-E5.

This means that it provides a lot of space to bring shade to the post, so you can avail the maximum dynamic range in the base ISO. Its design also lets you choose the option to expand the dynamic range when shooting in low-light scenes, as long as you are ready to use low ISO to reduce the flown highlight.

As expected, the X-E5 image does not provide anything new in terms of quality, although it is not necessarily a bad thing. The current generation cameras of Fujifilm have long been strong contenders in that department, and if you are trying to decide between them you will only have to consider the form factor and feature set. If you do not like rangefinder-styling, you are not giving image quality by going with X-T50 or X-T5 instead.
