Fortnite is now globally unavailable on iOS, Epic Games said on Friday that Apple blocked a bid to restore the popular game at App Store in the US
“Apple has blocked our Fortnite submission, so we cannot release the US App Store or Epic Games Store for iOS in the European Union,” the official account or Fortnite Written in a post On social media platform x. “Now, sadly, the Fortnite on iOS will be offline worldwide until Apple unblock it.”
CNBC has reached Apple for comment.
Epic Games presented Fortnite at Apple’s US App Store last week, a month later a judge did not allow the iPhone manufacturer to charge a commission to buy a commission that consumers do outside the iOS app.
Fortnite was drawn from the App Store in 2020, when Epic Games updated their software to link their website to avoid Apple’s commission. Apple pays a 30% fee for developers to buy through the APP.
