Lewis Hamilton and Charles Lakeler yesterday took out Ferrari’s new SF -25 for a shakedown in the team’s Firano track. Although it does not look fundamentally different from last year’s car, wears some major upgrade under 2025 machine (Not completely exciting) Livery, because there was no other place to grow in SF-24.
Complaining about cases, the team’s principal Fred Wasasur is keeping an eye on how the team develops the 2025 car during the season. When the engineer chiefs shift for the preparation of 2026 rules, the overhaul will depend on whether SF -25 keeps Ferrari in a position to win.
From SF -24 to SF -25, there is a change in the front suspension from the headline update push -rod to bridge -road. This is just the “tip of the iceberg”, however, according to the relatively new technical director Loek Sera.
“Most of the car is new, and it is not necessarily noticeable to the eye from outside, but it is the greatest effect of those parts,” they explained to Automoto. “We have changed many internal components, but philosophy is the same.”

As Sera states, last year’s SF -24 had no other place to improve. The suspension shift, as well as what appears to have to combine on a floor, should give McLaren (who unveiled his ambitious development approach with his MCL39 last week).
He said, “The main goal with SF -25 was to find a room to pursue aerodynamic development, and what will happen in the later upgrade in the season,” he explained. “As the technical rules are in their final year, with these cars it is about all the details.”
Those details could be a big difference, as Ferrari learned that when it faced a performance after a poor performance Midson upgrade last year. The team bounced back to get ahead of the Red Bull and secretly within 14 points of stealing the constructor’s championship from McLaren. Sera calculated the average deficit in 30 milliseconds last year, inspired an all -in approach with SF -25, with a constitution’s first time to withdraw the trophy back to kill the trophy after 2008.
Of course, the 2026’s large -scale rules change the loom, and the team’s principal Fred Vasasur knows that the team needs to focus on a large photo. He is already wondering when the work on SF -25 will need to give way to next year’s car.

“At some point in the season, an option will be to be made between the 2026 project and the development of 2025 cars, an option that we are in the championship standing, where it will be decided.” “After the first four or five races we will evaluate the situation and will be made available to the options how to distribute the available resources … perhaps in summer we will all be focused on 2026.”
If Ferrari’s decision in the middle of a warm competition for the title of Ferrari Constructor will be difficult.
“I expect a season like the previous one, in which four teams are able to win the race and target the championship,” Vasasur said. “This will be a good fight.”
