Category 1, the FDA notes on its site, means there is a recall in which there is a “reasonable possibility that use of or exposure to a violative product may result in serious adverse health consequences or death.”

Handsome Brook Farms initiated the recall after determining that the products were “packed and distributed in retail packaging not intended for retail distribution.”
“Additional supply chain controls and retraining are being put in place to prevent a recurrence,” the company said.

Fox Business has contacted Handsome Brook Farms for comment on the serious classification of the recall by the FDA.
The recall applies only to units with Julian code 327 and a use-by date of January 5, 2025.
