Formula 1 Race Winner and Le Mans 24 hours Victor Zochen month died at the age of 78.
The death of the German was announced by his family on his Instagram page, after over a month it was revealed that he was described as a “medical emergency”.
“Today we mourn the loss of a husband, father, grandfather and a racing legend,” the family said.
“It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that Jochen month has died today due to complications after a stroke in the beginning of this year.
“Thanks to everyone for the incredible support we have received. Every message of positivity was relayed to him, which gave him peace and comfort in his last days.
“Beyond mourning his death, we also celebrate his incredible life. A life that he preferred to share with all of you. A life that he lived for perfection.
“He is running again with all his friends.”
During its nine-season, the singles victory of the month, the 105-start F1 career came to the Montjuic Park Street Circuit in Barcelona in the Spanish Grand Prix of 1975.
