Championship leader of drivers Lando Noris After qualifying last night, cut a disappointment figure as an error inspired him to start the 10th today.
After losing control over Noris Turn Four, he crashed and admitted that he left himself with “a big job to try and do”.
He said on team radio: “F ***** Idiot.”
And later, in the media pen, Britain said: “It is almost impossible to get ahead from here, so I am not expecting anything magical.
“But we have a good car, so if we can do our work up to the top five, six, I would say that I will be happy.
“I should fight for the pole and, especially on a Q1 lap, do not take any silly risks like I think I have done.
“I shook, so I am not going to be proud, I am not going to be happy, I have let myself and the team go down and people have a big job to fix it.”
