Musk’s comment was in response to a post by entrepreneur Joe Lonsdale, who mentioned Sriram Krishnan – who President-elect Trump Recently tapped for a role in his upcoming administration. Last month, Krishnan advocated removing limits on green cards while responding to a post from Musk regarding the Department of Government Efficiency, a new entity that Musk will lead with businessman Vivek Ramaswamy.
“Removing country caps for green cards/unlocking skilled immigration would be huge,” Krishnan tweeted. In another post Krishnan said, “Simple logic – we need the best, regardless of where they were born (another oddity – the country cap is where you were born, not even citizenship).”

Trump announced this month that Krishnan was his choice for senior policy advisor for artificial intelligence in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.
“Working closely with David Sachs, Shriram will focus on ensuring continued U.S. leadership in AI, and will help shape and coordinate AI policy across the government, including science,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social. “And that includes working with the President’s Council of Advisors on Technology.” ,
