Vacation photos have become a global obsession and there’s a race to capture them wreaking havoc on major sitesNow, a new AI app promises to let travelers avoid the crowds altogether — by never leaving the house.
Endless Summer is made for when “burnout hits and you need to manifest the softer life you deserve,” writes the app’s developer, Laurent Del Rey. it uses Google’s Nano Banana Model To generate photos of the user browsing the markets of Amsterdam, eating noodles in Hong Kong, or cooking on the sandy beaches of Rio de Janeiro.
techcrunch reports The app has a simple interface, in which the user uploads a selfie, and from there the app will generate countless photos showing fake vacation photos.
When burnout hits and you need to manifest the softer life you deserve – with your fake vacation photos – this little photobooth app called Endless Summer is what I created :’)

Del Rey, whose full-time job is at Meta’s Superintelligence Lab, explains techcrunch That he was inspired to create the app by the current change in weather.
He says, “As the season ends, I wanted to create something that felt the same way. It’s in that spirit that I reverse-engineered the product experience.” “I created an Xcode project and started iterating straight from there, fleshing out the code experience.”
Speaking of the time of year, Del Rey has also added a Halloween mode, which generates AI photos of the user in different costumes.

The model powering the app is powerful, and the results Del Rey shows on her X account are impressive at first glance. But it’s a scary new world where people can trick other people into believing they’ve gone on vacation somewhere, when they haven’t.
At least one person expressed their disappointment over Endless Summer app store page,
“Unbelievable that this exists,” the person captioned his complaint. “The purpose of travel is not to take pictures of it. The purpose of travel is to experience something different. New experiences should enrich your life. Fake vacation photos actually do the opposite. They can be misleading and only confirm that you’re not getting enrichment. If anything, it will make burnout worse.”
