DJI takes a weevable, modular action camera to Insta360

DJI has announced Omo Nano, a small, wearable action camera. The latest device of DJI competes with the Go Lineup of Insta 360, which includes a standalone camera that magnetically combines with a dock to extended functionality. DJI promises pro-level quality with small cameras with 4K videos, advanced stabilization, 10-bit colors and more.

The DJI Omoso Nano has a type 1/1.3 (9.6 mm x 7.2 mm) with a 2.4μm pixel shape. It promises 13.5 stops of the dynamic range for better performance in the event of more lighting. Despite the relatively large sensor, the camera part of the device is small, which weighs 52g (1.8oz) and measures 57 x 29 x 28 mm (2.3 x 1.1 x 1.1 “). Compact design allows users to wear or mount Osmo nano in various ways, including helmets, hats, launders and more.

The camera can record 4K60 videos for slow speed and by 4K120. However, the horizon and the rockstade 3.0 stabilization mode are compatible with only 4K60. It supports 10-Bit and D-Logue M, which DJI states that this is the first for wearing cameras of this size. Users will have several recording modes and tools, such as supernight mode, pre-rcording, hyperlaps, timeleps, gesture control and more. This 35MP is still capable of photos.

Osmo Nano has two built -in microphones for stereo recording. Like other recent releases of DJI, it can also connect two DJI microphone transmitters without a receiver, which can improve users audio quality. The camera is also compatible with the company’s ND filter set.

The dock can charge up to 80% of the main camera in 20 minutes and promises up to 200 minutes of 1080p/24fps recording when fully charged. DJI also created a “endurance” mode that promises 4K30 recording for 60 minutes. The standalone camera promises a 90 -minute battery life at 1080p.

Osmo nano main camera is waterproofing for 10 m (32.8 ‘). Dock, however, provides an IPX4 rating for splash resistance only. It is to handle sweat and rain, but is not designed to go under water with the main camera. The camera comes in 64GB or 128GB versions, although the dock is compatible with microSD card for extended storage.

With other recent DJI announcements, Omo nano Will not officially be available in the US. However, with those previous launch, the camera may be available through informal retailers in the US, but it is not guaranteed.
