Calgary Stampders are still hoping that Vernon Adams Junior will be sufficient to play against Ottawa Redblack this week.
“Vernon was feeling better today,” Head coach and general manager Deve Dickenson told the media on Tuesday“We are still hoping. He did some goods, individual, and he is moving forward. This is one of the things where we have also consulted other people and see where we are ahead of us.”
The veteran quarterback lost the Montreal Alouets last week after scrapping for a late seven-yard profit in the third quarter. The 32 -year -old took a brilliant blow to the head as he was a sandwich between the linebackers Darnell Sanki and Tyris Baverate and was pulled by the Constion Spotter. He did not return to the game.
Adams Junior thrown for a touchdown in 193 yards and disadvantages and was replaced by PJ Walker who has long been traveling NFL. In a relief attempt, the first year CFL passer made three-seven pass efforts for 20 yards.
“(Walker) and (Fellow Quarterback) Josh (Love) have definitely taken advantage of some additional representatives, but Vernon did a lot on the first day (practice this week),” said Dicnceon said. “As a backup quarterback, you are biting (SIC) on the bit to reach there. You want to be ready and you want to feel that you have a chance, at least, to do some things or you feel comfortable calling plays.”
Damian Alford, the first overall pick in this year’s CFL draft, will not play this week due to hamstring injury. The Canadian receiver Clarke Barns (ankle) remains, while the fellow Canadian receiver Jalan Philpot (Hamstring) is suspected.
“I think we are ready, so there is no excuse,” Dickenson said. “Vamos Jogar.”
Calgary Stampders (5-2) will visit Ottawa Redblack (1-6) at the TD Place Stadium on Thursday, 31 July, with the kickoff for EDT at 7:30 pm. Stampders Montreal are coming from the loss of a narrow house for the supernatural louts, while the Redblacks were in a goodbye week.
The weather forecast in Ottawa asks for 24 degrees and high of sunny conditions. The game will be broadcast internationally in TSN and RDS and CFL+ in Canada. Radio listeners can tune 770 CHQR in Calgary and TSN 1200 in Ottawa.
