Luke Littler insists he will not punch Michael van Gerwen after a set during the World Championship final.
Criticisms were leveled at the playful nature of the teenager’s victories over Nathan Aspinall and Stephen Bunting, with the favorite joking with his opponents as he cruised to victory.
But that won’t be the case against the three-time champions on tonight’s stage.
“Obviously, if we win a set, we’re not going to be punching each other,” Littler explained.
“But I did the same thing with Stephen and Nathan. We’re good friends… After the set, Nathan and I punched each other. Me and Stephen did the same thing.
“Me and Nathan and I and Stephen are really good friends. When we win a set, we do what we do. But as soon as the ref says ‘game on’, that’s when the game is on.”
