The British Formula 4 Champion Desan Fairklo was crowned the winner of the 2024 Silverstone Autosport BRDC Young Driver of the Year Award.
The 18 -year -old Britain will get £ 200,000, which will receive a test in the Eston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula 1 car, Full British Racing Drivers Club membership, an Arai Helmet and a test in Jordan Besk Helmet Bags as their award.
Fairklo defeated fellow finalists Arvid Lindblad, Louis Sharp and Freddy Slater to become the 35th winner of the award, aims to find and promote British single-seater racers.
He was declared as the winner in a new-look Autosport award At the roundhouse in London on 29 January.
Fairklo said: “Honestly, it means so much. Thank you to every person, my mother, my father, my friends. Thanks to Silverstone for re -installing it, its 35 years, and I hope to run at the footsteps of the remaining winners.
“I am speechless. It was a great two days. Even if I did not win I learned a lot, and other drivers did a lot to me in two days.
“It was strange that there was no phone, because I was worried about not getting up every morning!
“The faces I have seen in this building are inspiring. To test an F1 car at 18, many do not get to do so, so it is incredible. I am sorry, I’m renting a little! ,
Fairklo earned a chance to step into racing with success in the prohibited asports competition. After finishing third in the British F4 in 2023, Fairclo dominated the 2024 campaign, with HTEC 14 wins.
After the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team and a simulator evaluation with fitness test, four prizes were spent two days in Silverstone, after the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team in the human performance. He ran the Motorsport Vision Formula 2, Beachian Motorsport-Run Eston Martin Vantin Vantin GT3 and RLR M Sport Ligter LMP3 machinery on the Grand Prix Circuit.

The Fairklo Award is included in a great list of previous winners, which began in 1989, with 2009 F1 World Champion Jenson button, 13-bar Grand Prix winner David Coolthard, Current F1 Driver Lando Noris and George Russell, Triple Indianapolis 500 winner Dario Franchisee includes, and 2014 world -ended champion Anthony Davidson.
The 2024 Award was led by the Judging Panel by the Ex-F1 driver and BRDC Vice President Derek Warwick. Other judges were four-time Indycar Champion Franchise, Le Manans-Viger Engineer Leena Ged, three-time GP winner Johnny Herbert, GT team boss and 1997 award-winning award winner Andrew Kirkalki, Double British Touring Car Champion Jason Plato, three times world touring. Car Champion Andy Priyulaux, IMSA Champion and 2008 Award winner Alexander Sims, Eston Martin Development Driver and 1996 award winner Darren Turner, Experienced commentator Ian Tichmarsh, successful McLaren and Lola designer Markarin and Lola designer Mark Williams, and Autosport’s chief editor Kevin Turner.
