Red Bull team principal Christian Horner explained that it was important that the organization finished the season before he could properly evaluate things with Pérez and figure out what was in both of their best interests.
“Obviously these discussions will take place between Checo and the team,” he said. “Now we’ve got the season, we’ll sit down with him and reflect on the season – and obviously where it went wrong – and work out collectively what’s the right and appropriate way to move forward.
“He has done a great job for this team. “So we will sit down and reflect on this season and how we move forward.”
