To date, I could count on one finger the number of smart rings that offered one-line ECG in such a small package. We got a chance to see the rings at the CES unveiling today and they really are dazzling. They also feel remarkably light weight. The sensor nodes inside the rings are noticeable when you first slide the ring on, but after a minute or two of wearing it, it doesn’t feel like you’re wearing a ring.
Circular says the Ring 2 has better sensors as well as the aforementioned ECG, eight-day battery life, and a better wireless charging dock. The company said its companion app and AI have been completely redesigned to provide a “more intuitive and sophisticated user experience.” Needless to mention that the body is now molded in titanium with a four-color finish; Gold, silver, black and pink gold.
This latest generation doesn’t have the vibrations featured in Circul’s first generation of rings, but the company’s co-founder told us that vibrations will be back in an upcoming iteration. For now, the second generation of rings should hit store shelves in February or March 2025, but the company says when that happens it will cost you $380.
