Christian Hornner Max Vestapen’s Red Bull F1 closes “noise” on the future

Christian Horner insisted that he is “quite comfortable” Max Verustapane The Red Bull Formula 1 will be with 1 squad – but certainly stating that the world champion will be in the car beyond 2025.

“While there are always speculation and noise, I think we are all quite comfortable where we are and what the situation is. You cannot control the story of others, but internally we know where we are.”

Verustapane himself has been asked about the link with Mercedes and has not gone to close and – when given a chance to do so – Horner also left the door slightly Ajar.

“Look, contracts between drivers and teams are always confidential,” he said.

“With any driver’s contract, is an element of the performance mechanism. And, of course, it exists within the Max contract.

“Now, of course, his intention is that he will do more driving for us in 2026. Now, it is unavoidable that he is very interested in any other team in Pitlane.

As referred to by Horner, Russell’s contract status in Mercedes has certainly operated the entire driver line-up conversation in speed-to signing an extension for a deal yet with Britn which is ending at the end of the current season.

What, Russell can be an option for red bull if Verustapane was wooed to move in another way?

“It is noteworthy that George is still on the market,” Horner said when the possibility was placed for him.

“We are not engaged in any discussion with George, so he is clearly very confident that he is going to maintain where he is. But, see, we have got a strength and depth within our team.

“In 2026, it is going to be a transformative year. This is the largest rule change in Formula 1, perhaps in the last 50 years, where both chassis and power unit are being introduced at the same time.

“No one with the hand or the heart can know what the Peking Order is going to be. It can be one of these gentlemen either.McLaren Or Eston Martin), this may be FerrariIt can be Mercedes, it can be anyone.

“So I think there is a terrible subject for 2026, and it will only be really a clear indication of what the Peking order is. So there is no guarantee that jumping into the Mercedes car would be a better offer.”
