Canon is teasing "something new" On 9 September

Picture: Canon

Canon is UK Posted a teaser On your Instagram account, saying that “something new is coming” and encouraging people to set a reminder to see the YouTube Livestream on 3PM Cest (6am PT / 9am ET) on 9 September.

The teaser image is surprisingly revealing, showing that looks like a video-centered camera with a boxing design and a potential 1/4-20 “growing points on the top plate. It clearly shows a red record button in place of a shutter and front-faced tally light.

The design is reminiscent of EOS R50 V, an APS-C Vlogging camera that was released by the company earlier this year consisting of a gimmal-friendly form-fector. However, given the several control points shown in the image and what a red-ring lens looks attached, it will not be surprising if it is a high-end offering.

It is also worth noting that the announcement is set just before the start of the IBC (International Broadcasting Convention) trade show, where we usually get a look at the company’s video-centric prasad.

Whatever the plan can be planned by Canon, it seems that we will not have to wait for a long time to get more details.
