The UK government and London’s Heathro Airport have ordered a power outage to handle, which closed Europe’s busiest air hub for almost a day as the airlines warned of further delays and cancellations.
Britain’s Ministry of Energy said on Saturday that it had given a commission to the National Energy System Operator to conduct an immediate investigation in the outage, which raised questions about the flexibility of the country’s important infrastructure, the Reuters.
Heathro said that he had tasked an independent board member, former Transport Minister Ruth Kelly, with its reaction to the incident with the aim of reviewing the airport’s crisis-management scheme and promoting flexibility.
The airport told the X Sunday that it is “running a full event again today, with more than 1,300 flights plan,” but airlines are preparing for lost time.

The British Airways, whose main hub is Heathro, promised the “close” program for Sunday after Chief Executive Sean Doyle, on Friday, warning the “huge impact” on Friday.

Police said they were not considering the incident as suspect after initial evaluation, although the investigation is on.
London Fire Brigade Said that its investigation will focus on electrical distribution equipment. About 70 firefighters and 10 engines responded to the fire in the Electrical Substation at Nessel Avenue in Hayes, just before the midnight of Thursday.

“This was a very visible and important event, and our firefighters tried tirelessly under challenging circumstances to bring the fire under rapid control,” Assistant Commissioner Pat Gaulbourne said in a statement.
