Former Indian captain and Control Board for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly Said that India should break all cricketing relations with Pakistan. Ganguly spoke to Annie in Kolkata. Over the years, India and Pakistan have met only ICC events, such as T20 and 50 over World Cups, ICC Champions Trophy and Asian Cricket Council (ACC)- Organized Asia Cup events. Speaking to ANI, Ganguly said, “100 percent, this (by breaking relations with Pakistan). Strict action is necessary. It is no joke that such things happen every year. Terrorism cannot be tolerated.”

Due to tense political relations between the two countries, India has not visited Pakistan since 2008, when they attended the Asia Cup. Two hardcore rivals last played a bilateral series in India in 2012-13, which included a white-ball match.

During the recently held ICC Champions Trophy, India did not visit Pakistan; Instead, he played all his matches in Dubai under a hybrid model.

In addition, Jee Shah, president of the International Cricket Council (ICC), J. Shah has decided on the hybrid model for all ICC events in the 2024–27 cycle, which will be held in India or Pakistan.

After the terrorist attack of Nathuna in Pahgam, who killed 26 people, the central government announced several diplomatic measures, such as closing the integrated check post (ICP) in the attic, suspending the SAARC Visa Rebate Scheme (SSES) for Pakistani citizens, 40 hours to return to their country, and reducing the number of officers on all sides.
