Blackmagic design has dramatically reduced prices for its Ursa Cine camera kit. This step is surprising, given that most of the products have seen an increase in prices over the years. This follows the increase in the price of some blackmizic cameras for American customers earlier this year.
In April, Blackmagic announced It was increasing the prices of most products in the US due to tariffs. This included Blackmagic Pyxis 12K and Ursa Cine 17K. In a statement by DPREVIEW at that time, Blackmazic said that “in general, it is a bit in the flow because the development is happening with tariffs.” However, the company also said that it would “be the production of some products, which for customers to help in low cost that we had earlier picked them up because tariffs became effective.”
Blackmiagic said that since it has released the Ursa cine line last year, it is working to reduce the cost of production and pass savings with customers. It seems that some production adjustment of blackmazic is beginning to have an impact, and the price cut in the Ursa cine line is sufficient. Ursa Cine 12K LF was first retailed for $ 14,995 and now it is priced at $ 9,495. Ursa Cine 12K LF with EVF fell from $ 16,495 to $ 10,995. With and without EVF, high-end 17k 65 is $ 7,000 less than the previous value.
While low prices are certainly a welcome change, the blackmazic specifies that they perform duties out. As a result, prices in the US will be more due to tariffs, although they will still be lower than the original prices of Ursa cine lineups.
