Ben Hunt: What’s next to F175 after an encouraging night?

In view of the overwhelming fans who exiting O2 Arena in London on Tuesday night, Formula 1 stumbled on a winning formula to confuse a new audience.

The fans, many of whom had never participated in the F1 race before, were looking at their heroes in the meat and an easily accessible settings inside the city site.

It had reduced the hunger, many of them were now investigating the opportunity to participate in a live Grand pre.

It was also understood that despite all the mumbling of food on the driver PR days, it is a logical nightmare, as well as additional production costs, teams saw some benefits for F175.

But despite this, currently there is no plan to host another incident of its kind in the future – which is a real shame.

For example, take the British Grand Prix of this July, the silverstone race F1 had a first digit scoring event, yet there is no grand plan to mark the opportunity in the 75th year of the championship.

Look: F175 was bold and risky – but was it successful?

This is a great disappointment, as Motogp did. In 2024, Motorcycle Championship celebrated its 75th anniversary with teams Running retro liver in British Grand Prix – An attempt that proved to be widely popular.

Of course, there are many obstacles when staging such an event, such as significant costs, but the perspective from the ground was that F175 was a hit with fans being happy at home.

But in reality it has been said that the true return on investment will not be known for some time yet. This is only once when the commercial value of F175 can be relayed in monetary terms that its effect will be clear.

And once this has happened, there may be a shock to repeat the said incident. Yet in 2026, with changes in both chassis and power unit, the F1 will be the biggest regulation overhaul in history, so the stress will be very high to visit teams again.

But why this was not done, given the F175 on many expectations and paper, it is easy to see how it can be repeated in another city around the world. Especially because it is clearly a target for marking departments to carry F1 to new audience.

For example, Madrid would be an ideal host for 2026, as it is preparing to be the new host of Spanish Grand Prix. This is just one of the several options, although the United States is clearly another because Liberty Media is eager to crack the US market since its F1 acquisition in 2017.

But it is part of all Conundrum F1, it will be possible to use the season launch event as a way to increase its fanbase, or it is as an additional source of income. Should it be the latter, then hosting Rwanda will not be surprising, as the African country has expressed interest in organizing the future grand pricks by staging last year’s FIA award ceremony.

And always the cash-rich, PR-wishes are the Middle East, which continues to expand its presence within the chain, yet it will sacrifice the concept of confusing more fans due to being there.

Even if, the possibilities are endless, so hopefully the attitude will change and a large launch launch will become a mainstay – but fans should remain in its heart.
