Blain Architects together with Marshall Interiorshas completed the renovation of a mid-century modern home for a young couple in San Mateo, California, who wanted to update the kitchen, living room, dining room, and family room.
Here’s a glimpse of the original kitchen and entrance…
The renovated home includes a pivoting glass front door that welcomes visitors into the home.
Wood, white and black served as the clean palette for the new kitchen design.
The kitchen design focuses on the window backsplash, which adds natural light to the interior and provides views of the landscape outside.
A wooden wall runs from the entryway to the living room, while exposed black beams complement the kitchen’s tiles and hardware.
In the living room, wooden wall art has been used while the furniture choices are accompanied by a variety of colors.
The dining area is located behind the sofa in the living room.
A secondary living room features a blue velvet sofa, a gray wall, and wooden elements that complement other wooden elements found throughout the home.
