Below, the needle talks about how Barbie helped shape her world.
Tell us about your relationship with Barbie.
I am a total of Barbie Neer. When I was a child, I started a Barbie club with my neighbor. She went to Catholic school, so when we play Barbie and build these Barbie villages, we met only each other to see each other and we use our small cases as part of the walls. (When we found Barbie Dream House) For Christmas or birthday we will build these small villages and park the car out and then add furniture. It was always an ongoing project. And then we found another neighbor on the next block that joined us, so it was a passion for years.
About his very Barbie, did Matal contact you?
He did, and it was a lot of respect. He has my bangs, my hair, my eyeliner, my red lipstick. He has my green nails. He has my rings – on each hand. Dress and boots spring are from the 2007 collection and is wearing my jet earrings. They got the details of shoes and jewelry completely. I mean, you can’t ask more.
You said: “I know my little self incredibly proud of how far I have come, and I hope that my doll inspires fans to embrace curiosity, nurture their creativity and dream without limit.” What are dreams in your career?
The thing about Barbie is that it was very aspiring. The fact is that he had a career, which meant that you can dream of an airline’s ray, or a housewife, or a nurse, or a sports car, or all those things. The fact is that you had all these possibilities (a young) age was just so important. It was not enough that (you) had to look like a doll; It was very, very aspiring. She was a fashion model, or she was a singer, or she had a gold lam ballgown. All those things were just dreaming at that point.
Unlike Barbie; She is sometimes taken out as an impossible standard of beauty, but at the same time, she was giving different things that could have been a woman, so she was more than just an ideal blonde.
