Two sculpture entrances
With his new full intervention, artists introduce two different points of entering from Anish Kapoor station, each designed as sculpture threshold in the metro network of Naples. The entrance of the university formed from weathering steel is swollen from the plaza in a way that is ‘Arcticle, Raw and Labiyal’. The artist’s team states: ,It offers a dynasty in the underworld,
Traiano entry presents a contrasting language. Here, a tubular opening of smooth steel is accurate and brushed. Team continues: ,As a lot of camphor work, the inner space is excluded from the inside, it reverses up and down in a sculpture work that is not an object in the scenario, but part of the landscape, root and part.Together, two entrances frame passengers’ movements through sculpture. Familiar thresholds are no longer secondary details, but are defined elements of urban experience of Naples.

Basic structure becomes public art
Aneesh Kapoor collaborated with the public couplek and Amanda Lewett of the future system to build these new idols for the Naples Subway Station. The three together worked to maintain a sense of raw continuity – the walls of the tunnel are kept raw, allowing an expressive material for honesty. Team concludes: ,It is an architecture that is embedded with the holes of the body – a functional and formal collision with beauty and mythological. This is art in the form of architecture as has never been seen before,
While the expansion of station naples comes as a functional addition to the metro system, it is also a cultural statement because the southern Italian cities form a dialogue between their infrastructure and the scope of public art. The opening marks the culmination of two decades of work.
