Amazon announced on Wednesday that it will launch “Amazon Pharmacy Kiosk,” a new service designed to help bridge the gap between a doctor’s visit and picking up a prescription.

Patients can create an Amazon Pharmacy account, schedule an appointment at a participating One Medical location, ask their provider to send the prescription to Amazon Pharmacy, select kiosk pickup and make payment, then scan the QR code provided at the kiosk. An Amazon pharmacist will then review the order and prepare the medication within minutes, the announcement states.

The announcement comes after Amazon ended its “Prime Invitee Program” on October 1, in which the benefit of Prime free shipping was limited to household members only.
