Fernando Alonso Out of FP1 for Aston Martin Hungarian Grand Prix Due to “his back muscle injury” which developed after Belgium GP, but will return to FP2.
In a statement by the silverstone-based team, confirmed that the part of the two-time F1 World Champion a two-time weekend is still subject to the evaluation as he continues to treat, Aston Martin’s Reserve Driver Felip Dragowich called in action for FP1.
The team said, “In the days after Belgium Grand Prix, Fernando Alonso is managing a muscle injury in his back. As he continues with treatment this morning, he has chosen to sit out of FP1,” the team said.
“Felip Dragowich will drive in FP1 Lance walkThen Fernando’s participation in FP2 and a decision will be taken in the remaining weekends in the appointed time. ,
After the FP1, Aston Matin confirmed that Alonso would return to action for the second practice session.
An update by Aston Martin confirmed between Friday’s practice sessions, “he chose to sit out of the initial practice session to limit his time in the car as he manages a muscle injury in his back.”
“This morning and after undergoing treatment and the FIA was medically approved, the Fernando will return to the AMR25 with a walk.”

It is the latest that has been a difficult season for the Spaniels, already suffering with a pinch of nerve on the Chinese Grand Prix. His neck was taped for Sunday’s race before retiring due to brake fire.
“I was wearing some neck protection because I have a pinch of nerve or something in the last few days,” he told the media. “But in the end, it didn’t help much because I did not adopt many.”
Drugovich, who has served as Aston Martin’s Reserve Driver since 2022, did the same during the Bahrain GP weekend by the 2022 Formula 2 Champion.
Alonso will have to compete very little in Saturday’s qualifying to participate in the Grand Prix.
“It would be great to see him in this formula 1,” Alonso said about Dragoovich during Thursday’s media sessions. “They have an incredible talent. Formula 2 was a performance, but we can see it here every day when we work with her.
“Simulator works, some free practices that they have. They are always distributing the performance that the team was asking, even with a very limited kilometers. It will be interesting to see it in a full -time drive and I hope it happens.”
