Air Canada unveils new cabin design for its aircraft – numer man

Air Canada’s latest aircraft will soon have a new look on the board.

The Montreal-based airline on Tuesday announced a plan to launch a new cabin appearance next year, including new mood lighting, additional overhead compartments and a overall fresh “vibi”.

The new design will debut on its Airbus A220 jets, the Canadian flag carrier said at a news conference organized by Airbus in Hamburg, Germany.

Passengers will start looking at the new interiors in 2026.

This will not just be a milestone for Air Canada: Cabin Refresh A220 will mark the onset of the “Aerspace” cabin of Airbus.

Known to a host of its wide light panels, ventilated and spacious cabin layouts, and updated, more practical features, the aircraft cabin already fly on a wide range of airlines on other types of aircraft. But this will be the first time that the planner’s airspace design will make its way on A220 – an aircraft that First entered the fleet of Air Canada Five years ago, in late 2019.

Big overhead compartment

For the passengers of Air Canada, the most tangible upgrade will be large overhead compartments.

They would be 20% larger, the carrier said – sufficient room up to 19 additional bags. This is not a small achievement on an aircraft that seats 137 passengers.

It should also be easy to close those compartments, lining downwards and hinging upwards, as I saw a major industry conference in Hamburg, visiting the aircraft interiors expo on Tuesday at a mock-up of a airbus design.

These compartments should be easy and fast for passengers (not mentioning flight hostemps) to close as precious seconds.

In addition, updated A220s will help Usher in two reforms Air Canada announced earlier: Fast, Free Onboard Wi-Fi for aeroplan members And the new 4K seatback screen created by Panasonic, which I had a look at last year (below).

A overall refreshing – A220 and beyond it

But fresh aesthetics should also be a good improvement. Air France is calling it a “shining hearted” design.

Onboard product managing director John Moody said at a news conference on Tuesday, “The cabin is much hot than the past, and it is on the purpose.” “What we want to distribute is that is hot personality, hot care, which is known to Canadian people.”

Hopefully, warmth is also to show more than A220. Moody said on Tuesday with the French planner design Air Canada “began to flow” in other air Canadian planes.

While he could not say certainly, we should pay attention-because he did-that the airline has dozens of long-range airbus A321xlrs on the order. This new aircraft version has inspired a wide range of carriers from American Airlines to Iberia to roll new styles and premium seat types.

Moody said about Air Canada’s plans, “Think as a deep tampering.” “We have XLRs coming. We have other aircraft types that will introduce new products, stay.”

Ground level

Air Canada currently has 35 A220s in its fleet, flying on several routes in North America. The airline said the new aircraft cabin will start with its 43rd A220 arrival. It is currently slated for delivery in March 2026.

The airline is not planned, so far, to resume its existing A220s with the new product.

Air Canada’s A220s have 12 premium recliners in their North America business class. This is 125 seats in the main cabin systematic in the Signo 2 -Bai -3 configuration of A220.

Airline announced on Tuesday (like contestants) Cutting flights from more from US Between Booking from Canadian passengers.
