A Canadian tourist had bitten both his hands with a shark because he tried to take a selfie with the animal.
The 55 -year -old woman lost both hands on 7 February after trying to take a picture with sharks during the holiday at Thompson Kov Beach in Turks and Caikose Island.
The woman who is considered Canadian was going only a few yards from the shore in the shallow end of the water, when she saw the shark.
According to a press release Shared by the Ottoman and Kaikos Island government, the woman then tried to “join with the shark” in an attempt to capture a selfie with the animal. However, Shark attacked him.
New Zealand Herald Reports At that time the woman’s family was nearby and her husband tried to stop the shark from reaping.
In the photographs that broadcast online, other beaches can be seen using their clothes to gather around the woman and prevent bleeding.
The woman was then taken to the Cheshire Hall Medical Center in the Turk and Caikos Islands, where she was stabilized. The woman allegedly provoked one of her arms under the wrist and the other was provoked by her cell. She has since returned to Canada for further medical care.
The species has not been confirmed but New Zealand Herald Local reports suggest that it was a bull shark. It is understood that the shark was floating in the area for about 40 minutes before striking.
“The length of the shark was about 6 feet. However, the species is yet to be confirmed, ”Turks and Kaikose Islands say in a press release.
“It has been determined that tourists tried to connect with the shallow in an attempt to take pictures.”
