A Spanish farmhouse was in ruins. Ujjwal Yellow brought it back to life.

We love us: Every day we facilitate a remarkable place presented by our community, designers, builders and home owners. Is there one to share? Post it here.

Project Description:

Place: Menorka, Spain

Builder: Jose Quintana

Photographer: Maria Missaglia

From architect: ,In Menorca, Atalier Du Pont is carrying out complete renovation of an old ruin adjacent to a stone barn. Many elements already existing on the site directed the architects in their choice: the yellow yellow of the ceiling in a room, an arches curve, the rough appearance of the front, the rough appearance, the visual, and all the appearance of the local, every corner above every corner Stone in. These different elements inspired the Anne-Sekal Comor and Philip Croizer to imagine a place that mixes the raw materials with a more contemporary, unexpected and enforcing form.

,The result is a kitchen burnt by a cheerful acid yellow that brings out natural colors around it. In the living room, arched windows (untreated irco) with off-selectors pivotes ensure that the light is not cut and the outside view is as unpublished as possible, while adding a very contemporary touch . The normal thread running through the project is made not only in door frames and walls, but also in some floor and masonry benches.

,Comar and Croisier were eager to pay homage to the Minorkain Savir-Fair, and included specific elements such as a variety of rendering, texture and wall finish. There are mixtures of lime and render, but also a lot of exposed stones. Hand handwork is always present and appears intentionally. Architectural pair chose to preserve the barn,S conventional walls, which are very thick at the base and forming functional and decorative below, as they grow, become thin.

,For more ornamental aspects, the headboards were woven by local craftsmen Pedro and Mariona. Atelier Du Pont produced terracotta and rope, stone basin, concrete and a bathtub in lime, and bedside tables and side tables in many doors in organic shapes.,
