Police investigating suspicious fires in Coldstream, B.C. – Okanagan
Over the past six weeks, emergency crews in British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley have responded to four separate emergency calls. fires In The cold current parks.
On May 24, Coldstream Fire responded to a tree stump fire in Creekside Park. On June 12, they were then called to two suspicious fires near Cosen’s Bay.
Police have not identified any suspects and the investigation is ongoing. It is not known whether these incidents are related.
The fourth fire occurred on July 4. After receiving reports of smoke coming from a wooded ravine area, frontline officers and the Coldstream Fire Department battled a brush fire in the 9700 block of Coldstream Creek Road.

The cause of the fire has not been determined, but authorities believe the fire was human-caused. No suspects or witnesses have been identified.
“These incidents are very concerning and extremely dangerous to public safety,” said Corporal Tania Finn, Media Relations Officer for the Vernon-North Okanagan RCMP. “It wouldn’t have taken much for these fires to spread out of control and endanger nearby properties.”
Police are asking anyone with dashcam footage from the areas of Coldstream Creek Road, Cosen’s Bay Road and Grieves Road on July 4 between 1:45pm and 2pm to contact police.
Anyone with information regarding these fires is asked to contact the North Okanagan RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
