Chase’s relevance increases Credit Card Airport Lounge Games This is nothing short of impressive.
Issuer’s Opinion on Airport Lounges Dubbed Sapphire Lounge by The Clubfirst opened in America Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) In 2023. The domestic network has since expanded New York’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA) And John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX)And Dulles International Airport (IAD)In addition to an international outpost in Hong Kong.
On Friday, the issuer will unveil its newest lounge at San Diego International Airport (SAN) – its seventh domestic outpost – making Chase the first credit card issuer to open a location in the SAN.
There’s a lot to like about this new outpost, so read on for everything you need to know.
Chase Sapphire Lounge San Diego Location
The Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club at SAN is between Gates 46 and 47 in Terminal 2 West. The entrance is in front of Starbucks.

All gates in Terminal 2 are air-connected, so unless you’re flying Frontier Airlines, Spirit Airlines, Southwest Airlines or Sun Country Airlines, you’ll be able to check into the lounge without going through security before departure. It would be nice to enter. (The above airlines operate from SAN’s Terminal 1, which is connected only to Terminal 2 pre-security.)
Once you’ve located the entrance, you’ll need to take the elevator or stairs up to the mezzanine level, where you’ll find the frosted blue doors that mark the official entrance to the lounge.
This place is open daily from 5 am to 10 pm

With primary and authorized card members Chase Sapphire Reserve® They can enter the lounge for free, and they can bring up to two guests. Note that you will need the (complimentary) Priority Pass linked to the card to enter the lounge. Additional guests after the initial allocation will be charged $27 per person.
The same access policy applies to people with a JPMorgan Reserve card or Ritz-Carlton Credit Card (No longer available to new applicants), although the latter card includes unlimited guest access.
Even if you don’t have one of these cards, you may still be able to access the Sapphire Lounge. passengers with a Priority Pass Membership (from someone Other Premium Credit Cards) can visit one Chase Sapphire Lounge per calendar year and purchase additional admissions for yourself and guests for $75 per person.

Immediately upon entering the new location, you’ll notice familiar color schemes and design elements that mimic the rest of the Sapphire Lounge network.

From the colorful artwork to the wooden floors to the slatted room dividers, this place is definitely a sapphire lounge.
That said, Chase has definitely incorporated a local flair into this space, with the lounge’s focal artwork displayed for everyone to see immediately upon entry.

After entering the lounge, you’ll walk straight past the reception desk and into the dimly lit and moody main bar and dining areas. The Wraparound Bar is the largest bar Chase has ever created, and will definitely become a popular gathering and socializing area once the lounge opens.

The room adjacent to the dining area – with attractive lighting – has even more tables for dining or relaxing.

As you walk through the main dining area, you can go in two directions. If you go straight to the back of the lounge, you’ll find another large relaxation room equipped with sofas, recliners and a fake fireplace that serves as its centerpiece.

In front of this relaxation area are three productivity pods built directly into the wall – a nice touch for those trying to get some work done at the last minute.

If you’re taking calls, you’ll want to head to the lounge’s only phone booth, located right next to the productivity pods.
As you progress through the lounge, you’ll find access to the space’s facilities – more details on these below.
If you instead go through the dining room and turn left to head back towards the lounge entrance, you’ll find two more relaxation areas.

The first is accented by palm trees which serves as a fitting local touch. This open space is mostly furnished with sofas and comfortable chairs to promote relaxation.
Meanwhile, if you continue straight past the lounge, you’ll find the “Balboa Breezeway,” named after San Diego’s Balboa Park. This room feels like a California-inspired home library, and you’ll find me posting the next time I’m in the lounge.

Interestingly, the Balboa Breezeway can be separated from the rest of the lounge by sliding frosted glass doors. Chase does not initially intend to set aside this space, but it may be used going forward if the issuer contracts with an international airline that wishes to offer dedicated lounge space in the SAN for its premium passengers.
Chase’s first digital wall, which displays stunning drone footage of the San Diego coastline, is in the hallway connecting the rest of the lounge to the Balboa Breezeway.
Overall, this lounge is distinctly Southern Californian.
Even better, this space will also be popular with aviation enthusiasts as floor-to-ceiling windows along the perimeter of the lounge provide unparalleled views of the apron and tarmac area.
The space is approximately 11,000 square feet and has space for approximately 200 passengers. While this may not be enough to handle peak demand, the divided design should make the lounge feel less crowded than it actually is.

Although Chase Flagship in LaGuardia Might be the king of amenities, this place can definitely be considered one of the best places to visit in New York.

It starts with a wellness area located at the back of the lounge, which features four private relaxation areas. Each pod has access to digital meditations by Devi Brown.

Meanwhile, located right next to the wellness area is a small facial bar with treatments from Face Haus.
The lounge also has a family room, filled with toys, games and books for young passengers.
The lounge also has a shower, and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Chase uses Byredo products in all of its lounges.

Meanwhile, men’s and women’s toilets are separate. The men’s bathroom has three stalls, two urinals, a beautiful hand-washing area equipped with gold sconces, and spectacular views of the tarmac and departing aircraft.

In fact, it might be the most beautiful toilet in the entire airport.
Note that there is also a separate, accessible bathroom for all genders.

There is also a separate nursing room that is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
To reserve a facial, wellness pod or shower, you need to scan one of the QR codes displayed at each table. From there, you’ll be redirected to the lounge’s landing page, where you can make your reservation (and even order a la carte dining).
Apart from the above facilities, the lounge also includes basic amenities. Fast Wi-Fi, power outlets, and USB-C and USB-A ports are located at nearly every seat.

All Chase lounges have above average dining options, and this location is no exception.
The lounge offers a full breakfast buffet until 11 a.m., after which it becomes all-day fare. From French crepes to hamburgers and parfait bowls to hummus and pita pockets, you’re likely to find something delicious at the buffet.

If you are looking for more nutritious food, you can also order items from web-based portals. Chase is teaming up with San Diego’s Oscar’s Mexican Seafood to create some special dishes, such as chicken tostada and potato soup with shrimp, which are available in addition to staples like the Sapphire Burger.

Plus, the bar can craft your favorite cocktail or serve one of San Diego’s signatures, such as the bourbon- and gin-based Queen of Rum Row – for free.

For those who want to hydrate, there are two large drink stations, one near the buffet and the other near the surfboard entrance.

Both offer a variety of waters, coffee from California’s Groundwork Coffee, espresso machines, and minifridges stocked with popular soft drinks like Spindrift and Electrolyte Drinks from Leisure Hydration.

With seven operational lounges in just two years and three more already confirmed in the pipeline, Chase is making a big play for travelers carrying their top credit cards.
The San Diego location will undoubtedly help attract even more card members. The place itself is gorgeous, and it offers a host of amenities and great dining options that are sure to impress.
Plus, the Southern California-inspired design helps give this spot some local flair that will set it apart from existing outposts.
As Chase continues to build more lounges, it raises the bar on what travelers can expect from credit card-branded airport lounges. As the network grows, American Express and Capital One should take note because Sapphire lounges are, in some ways, even nicer than Centurion lounges and Capital One lounges.
