Bortoletto vows to fight with “no limits” in F2 title battle with Hadjar

Gabriele Bortoletto has pledged to “fight as hard as I can” to capture the Formula 2 championship crown in Abu Dhabi.

While the Brazilian has already secured his F1 seat for 2025 with Sauber, rival Isaac Hadjar is still waiting to learn his fate, with the RB having an opportunity linked to Sergio Perez’s ongoing situation at Red Bull Is.

However, an unknown future will not stop Bortoletto from staking everything when the lights go out at Yas Marina.

“There is no limit to how hard I am willing to fight,” the Invicta driver said.

“Whatever game he wants to play, I am ready to do it. I don’t care whether I had an (F1) seat or not, the approach would have been the same.

“The fact that I am already signed in F1 does not change the fact that I am going to race less aggressive, more aggressive or whatever, and I am ready for this battle.

“It’s definitely going to be fun and entertaining this weekend. Obviously, it’s been a long season so far and we’ve been playing fair to each other and I really believe that’s going to be the case this time as well.”

The title fight has been clean-cut so far, with Bortoletto and Hadjar colliding only once – that was in an awkward opening event in Australia when fast-starting Pepe Marti drove into a narrow gap between the pair .

After overturning Hadjar’s title lead before last week’s Qatar round, Bortoletto saw his recently established gap reduced to just half a point as he was outscored in both races.

Asked if the good margin changes his thinking or preparation, he said: “It doesn’t change anything. To fight for championships at a high level, at least in my way of thinking, you can’t be up and down with your mental state.

“You need to always keep yourself calm and level-headed in all situations. Good or bad, you need to behave like one and be able to deal with such situations.

“As for the final round, it’s about doing exactly what has worked for me throughout the season.

“I don’t want to create anything new, I don’t want to change any strategies or anything because it doesn’t make sense.”
