Olympic moon in paris
Photographer: Samu photo

The mood of the celebration of the Games was clear, with the cafe and the crowds with the roads. People soak in the environment and scenes at every available place. I think this picture is a snapshot of Paris hugging a particular moment.

Day and, Times Square Station, 1976
Photographer: Phototransformation
Description: From 1974 to 1979, I rotated the streets and subway of NYC with two cameras and a tape recorder, documenting street life. Decades later, I compiled them to a book of stories and photographs. I was working as a researcher at a stock photo agency at Park Avenue South. I changed trains in Times Square. The woman saw day-to-day piece tiredness at a time when unemployment was the highest in decades, garbage was piled on the roads, and crime was more. The camera was a robot star II, which captured the square-format images on the 35 mm film. Its wind-up can activate the spring shutter several times per second. This was the right street photography camera.

Sunset, hydrant in NYC
Photographer: Robsle
Description: In the months after summer, a repressive summer is accompanied by a soft glow of the evening sun. During this time, it is unavoidable for someone to open a hydrant so that people in the neighborhood can be allowed to cool down. (Some people say NYFD would do it on the occasion, but I could not say where I heard this.) Until my time in Dominican district (about 98th), it was always a trop from a film – But that day, I, I fully understood what it means and why this activity has become a part of social taunting. I remember sweat dripping from my forehead because I caught it from the 5th floor of walking from the 5th floor. Soon after, I went down and wet my feet!

Spirit alone in a snow storm
Photographer: Hoyat
Description: In a snow storm, offices and shops were closed quickly, and people were asked to go home or take shelter. I crossed the downtown street when I saw a lonely man crosses the opposite direction and direction. He bowed down because he was struggling against the halling air. I stopped in the middle of the road, took out my camera, and gave time to that moment. Later, at home, the photo inspired this haiku poem: Flex dance like Ecos; A single breath cuts the cold; Heartbeat pierces at night.
