A bug with ambient mode on the cast-driven chromecast reduces the time and weather displayed in the lower-right corner.
In the last few days, owners of non-Google TV Chromecast have seen that the weather and clock have reduced considerably, as well as Chromecast has become smaller than before. Temperature, position icon and time are now the same size of image credits/details.
Thus, it is quite difficult to detect it from a distance, thus it is an important aspect why people keep their television on all day. Other parts of the ambient mode UI look fine.
This was probably due to server-side change rather than a firmware update. We are looking at this problem on the second generation of Chromecast, but probably the first and third generation, as well as ultra, are affected by this bug.

Nothing is cured by playing with ambient mode settings in Google Home App. This is a quite widespread issue and clearly a bug, so hopefully Google will fix it soon.
We do not have time and meteorological bugs on Chromecast with Google TV or Google TV streammer.
