Novak Djokovic reveals ‘energetic disc’ as new secret weapon tennis news

Novak Djokovic has revealed a new secret weapon which he credits with keeping him healthy and prolonging his career – a green “energetic disc”. Known for his New Age spiritual interests, the Serbian star is in Melbourne hoping to beat the clock and win an 11th Australian Open and record 25th Grand Slam singles title. To help him achieve this feat, he has a device created by a Serbian engineer that he claims has helped him deal with many ailments. The 37-year-old showed off the dinner-plate sized disc in a video on Instagram.

“It’s (an) energetic disk, which creates an electromagnetic field around it and so the mystery lies in this pattern,” he said.

“And so when you put it on a certain part of your body, put it on this part, for example, if you have stomach problems, which I often have when I’m nervous, stressed before a match. Or there is a problem of indigestion, which produces heat.

“Then it starts to increase metabolic functions or reduce inflammation in certain parts of the body.”

“I have a lot of them and I take them everywhere,” Djokovic said.

“When I fly on a plane, I put it on (my) head or somewhere else. I don’t want to keep it on body parts for too long, so like 20-30 minutes and it does its job. “

Djokovic has long credited a number of unusual methods for helping him become one of the greatest players of all time, and has never been shy about talking about his eccentricities.

He swears by a plant-based diet, extols the virtues of meditation, and uses a spiritual guru.

The Serb has also previously talked about using hyperbaric oxygen chambers and fixing “pyramids”, while claiming that it is possible to change the composition of water and food through the power of positive thinking.

He is a well-known vaccine-skeptic, a stance that led to him being exiled from Melbourne – where he has a favorite tree he likes to hug – ahead of the 2022 Australian Open during the Covid pandemic.

Djokovic will make his Australian Open debut this year on Monday against American Nishesh Basavareddy.
