On Sunday, the Golden Globes kicked off Hollywood’s awards season with a bang. There is no doubt that a win can give a big advantage to any film or increase its buzz. While the true cultural value of these industry awards is debated, at ScreenHub Entertainment we’re happy to say that one of our favorite shows of 2024, Shogun, Have achieved a big victory this year. So, what exactly did Shogun Win at this year’s Golden Globes?
Best Supporting Actor, Tadanobu Asano
Shogun’s Tadanobu Asano played the Japanese lord Kashigi Yabushige (and often the conspirator). His outstanding performance in trying to survive amid the turbulent political realities of ancient Japan earned him a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role.
Best Female Actress, Anna Sawai

She won the award for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series for her portrayal of Lady Toda Mariko. Anna had a depth and intensity that we rarely see even in these days of “prestige TV.”
Best Male Actor, Hiroyuki Sanada
Hiroyuki Sanada is no stranger to the American screen, having appeared in blockbuster films like The Wolverine. mortal KombatAnd john wick 4His Golden Globe win for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series – Drama brought a powerful message to young actors, “Never give up.” Sanada has already won a Primetime Emmy Award for his portrayal of Lord Yoshi Toranaga Shogun,
Best TV Series, Shogun
After a night of big wins, the cast and creators of Shogun had one last chance to celebrate on stage. It was awarded the Golan Globe for Best Television Series – Drama, the highest honor it can receive for a drama series. Shogun Co-creator Justin Marks accepted the award and provided a fascinating anecdote from his home life.
“Yesterday, Rachel and I were digging through the ferns at our house in search of a 50-pound turtle, which we fostered for some reason, that keeps surviving.”
