Yamaha’s MotoGP test rider Augusto Fernandez will compete in this weekend’s Malaysian Grand Prix in a bid to promote the Iwata-based manufacturer’s new V4 engine project.
constant pressure Fabio Quartararo Yamaha is attempting to make progress in the development of its new V4-powered bike, leading the Japanese manufacturer’s engineers to enter Fernandez into the Malaysian program.
The Spaniard was not initially on the entry list for the Sepang weekend but will now take part under the banner of yamaha factory racing The team, a Test team led by the experienced Silvano Galbusera.
As part of the development program for the new V4-powered bike, Yamaha had planned a private test at Motorland Aragon on 9–10 November, before the official Valencia test on 18 November.
The purpose of this double day of testing was to allow Fernandez to conduct a shakedown of Quartararo’s four V4-powered M1s, alex rinse, jack millerAnd the new addition for next season, Toprak Razgatlioglu, will be used at the Valencia test.
The test will also provide three-time World Superbike Champion Razgatlioglu his first taste of a MotoGP bike before taking part in the Valencia test with the rest of the grid.
For the time being, Fernandez’s wildcard entry at Sepang does not change plans for the next test at Aragon.

Yamaha is trying to move forward with the development of an entirely new bike that would help convince Quartararo, whose contract expires at the end of next year, to make a significant move. Quartararo has already made it clear that if the Japanese brand does not improve next year he will look elsewhere on the grid.
