VLGE, Roblox | But TechCrunch is making world building and buying easier.


Early in Evelyn Mora’s career, she realized that fashion designers, although often deeply focused on sustainability, could not stage environmentally friendly large-scale fashion shows.

In 2021, They launched VLGEA gaming and immersive-world-building platform that specializes in working with brands. It lets brands create their own worlds, fill them with interactive content and games, and export said worlds to other platforms like Roblox. This product is revolutionizing what shopping could be in the future – a world where brands can create interactive worlds to connect with Gen Z instead of hosting fashion shows and filming campaigns.

VLGE has worked with names such as Lancôme, Charlotte Tilbury and Vogue Scandinavia, and has worked with Lamont J. Du Pont of the du Pont family. Du Pont, has raised a total of $5 million from investors such as L’Oréal Group and the British Fashion Council.

It made headlines by launching the world’s first 3D and gamified fashion week. On Thursday it announced plans to take things a step further. It says 50 fashion brands will launch their own shoppable worlds world fashion weekAll powered by VLGE. World Fashion Week is an initiative of VLGE and is believed to act as a bridge for creators to launch purchasable games on other platforms like Roblox.

Mora said this is the brand’s first large-scale activation, showing how the platform can let users create in real-time across all browsers and, first of all, on Roblox. He said that because of the market potential he decided to focus on making Roblox easier to use for brands. VLGE is also compatible with the Unreal Engine and is working on compatibility with Meta Horizon World.

“This is important because Roblox has become fashion’s most powerful youth front, yet until now, world-building there has been expensive, technical, and complex,” Mora told TechCrunch. “We bridge the gap between e-commerce, gaming, and cultural creation by making it instant, affordable, scalable, and interoperable.”

In other words, anyone building on VLGE can launch on Roblox immediately, without knowing Roblox’s coding language or having any solid background in the technology. “They also don’t need to pay thousands and wait months for it to launch.” (It can cost anywhere between $10,000 to $100,000 for a brand to pay an agency to create their world on Roblox.)

VLGE offers four payment tiers: freemium, and three payment tiers for creators, small businesses, and enterprises respectively.

Mora is counting on gamified commerce to become the next frontier in fashion and said VLGE plans to launch an online store, an e-tail store, that will sell physical merchandise by emerging brands as well as 3D assets that can be exported to Roblox. The technology shows how the fashion world is trying to harness the growing prominence of sports and immersive worlds when it comes to connecting with the next generation.

“This moment is not just about fashion, it is about the infrastructure that will power the new generation of commerce,” Mora said.
