nvidia ceo jensen huang sent a letter to the chip giant’s employees on Monday expressing gratitude for the release of Avinaton Orr, an Israeli employee of the company who was released from Hamas captivity after two years.

Calcalist reported He began working for Nvidia in 2022 after receiving an electrical engineering degree from Ben-Gurion University. He worked as an engineer in Nvidia’s VLSI group, which is part of the company’s networking division and plays a key role in Nvidia’s semiconductor design operations in Israel.
Huang wrote that Orr’s mother, Ditza, “inspires us all” through her “strength, courage and unwavering hope.”
He also said Nvidia employees in Israel “Standing with him at vigil, united in our determination that Avinathan will return home safely. That unity represents the best version of us.”

“Thousands of Nvidia employees have served with extraordinary bravery in protecting their communities during the war,” Huang added. “Many people have faced immense pain, loss and uncertainty. Some have lost family members or loved ones.”
The Nvidia co-founder’s letter mentions several personal losses suffered by Nvidia’s team in Israel, including the death of employee Amit Chayut as well as the murder of Danielle Waldman and her partner.

Huang wrote, “Our Jewish, Druze, and Arab families alike have suffered enormous losses. Grief knows no bounds, no faith, no division. We mourn together, and we hope together for a future of peace, understanding, and without fear.”
