US Mobile is offering 3 unlimited lines for the price of just one, too good to be true?

TL;DR

  • US Mobile’s new promo gives two free lines for a year when you purchase the Annual Unlimited Premium or Starter plan, bringing the cost per line down to about $11/month.
  • Premium buyers get two free starter lines; Starter buyers get two free unlimited Flex lines, which are required to remain on the AT&T-based “Dark Star” network.
  • The deal aims to drive more users to Dark Star after US Mobile’s expanded AT&T partnership allows for full unlimited data and new benefits.

From low-cost Pixel phone deals to aggressively priced annual promos, US Mobile has had a good year in terms of offering solid deals to its customers. Now it’s offering one of its most impressive deals yet. Simply put, if you purchase the Annual Unlimited Premium or Unlimited Starter plan, you will receive two additional lines for a year at no cost. Depending on the plan, this works out to about $11 or less per month.

As you can imagine, there are some caveats here. First of all, your free unlimited line will depend on whether you purchased the Premium or Starter plan. The former will give the starter two free lines, while the latter will get a more basic unlimited flex for their free lines. It is also important to note that all lines ported must be on Dark Star for the entire year.

It may be hard to sell the necessity of Dark Star to some people

For the uninitiated, Dark Star is the in-house name of its AT&T-based network coverage. In addition to Dark Star, there’s also Light Speed (T-Mobile) and Warp 5G (Verizon), but unfortunately, you won’t be able to switch to these options with this promo. So is it worth it? Honestly, it really depends. If you live in an area with solid AT&T coverage, yes. That said, Reddit is full of threads from people who have complained about Dark Star’s reliability, so again, this will largely depend on where you live.

As good as this deal sounds, there’s a reason US Mobile is pushing it. Although US Mobile has offered AT&T-based coverage for some time, earlier this year it struck a deal with AT&T, allowing it to offer nearly unlimited data and a number of other features. Since then, the company has been working hard to attract customers Dark Star is better than its other alternativesThat’s probably because AT&T charges much less than Verizon or T-Mobile, or because the agreement the companies signed came with an expectation of how many users they would bring.

This means that Dark Star will likely remain the company’s main promotional focus for some time. Is it likely that they will have even better deals in the future? Although anything is possible, it’s impossible to beat the pricing here. Bottom line, if Dark Star isn’t a turn-off, you’re unlikely to find a better deal elsewhere right now.
