Apps’s YouTube family has its own Design languageAnd the latest change is an updated icon set that is widely rolling for YouTube music.
On the homepage, you will see new icons in the first lower bar. The “home” icon is a bit more descriptive, while you can start telling that this new set is bubbly rather than sharp. “Samples” is a good example of how the lines are quite thick, the thin outline went away. “Explore” and “library” are quite bold with slightly more expansion.
In the top-right corner, we see the updated notification vine, while the magnifying glass gets a small handle.
Old vs new
Now on the playing screen, we see updated downward Chevron, Cast button and thick dots for the overflow menu.
Then we arrive – what I believe – Cartoni thumb up and down button. It is strangely realistic how you can exclude the knuckles, but the fact that only three are like cartoons/animation. In addition, the thumb is inconsistently long.
The comments button sees a more important redraw that I am somewhat watching the update icography with that completely Hindola. Get play/poses and previous/next round treatment, while the shuffle is a little boulder. The goal repeat button sees the biggest update.
In the overflow menu, I like the new album icon, but the new sleep timer looks just like a circle. Finally, the pin to speed dial button is tilted.
Overall, I do not mind most of the new icons because the old set (thin outline) was getting a bit old, but some also look out of the place.
This updated icon set has been widely rolled out for youtube music for Android, iOS and for YouTube music in recent times. NetIf you do not have yet, try force to stop YTM. There are also some reports in the main YouTube app.
