Hadley Simmons / Android Authority
It was a long time coming, but Google finally brought it Material 3 expressive On Pixel phone Android 16 running earlier this month. This style brings boulder text, more prominent togle and new animation.
I really like this More adaptable quick settings menu Very, which allows you to change the size of quick setting tiles. However, my favorite change should be a modified Bluetooth tile behavior.
You can once again togle Bluetooth with single tap
The Bluetooth tile reappeared as part of the material 3 expressive overhaul, now lets me togle Bluetooth connectivity with a tap. It addresses a pet that I have done with recent Android versions, and comes after us First saw this possible change A year ago.
Before the release of Android 14 in 2023, Google lets you tap Bluetooth tiles to enable or disable Bluetooth connectivity. Meanwhile, a long -res will take you to the Bluetooth section of your phone’s settings menu. so far so good. Then reached Android 14.
Don’t want to miss best from Android authority,
For my chagarine, Android 14 changed the behavior of Bluetooth tile. Tapping the tile no longer tolegies Bluetooth connectivity. Instead, it opened a pop-up menu with a list of real connectivity togle and recently coupled equipment. In other words, you needed two taps to tolerate Bluetooth.
It does not look like a big thing, and it is not the end of the world, but it has still angered me after the release of Android 14. If you are like me and many devices, it was particularly bizarre. So if I want to connect my earphone to a tablet or another phone, I will need to tap twice to disable Bluetooth on my primary phone. Eager to play Steam After dinner? Well, I have to tap twice to disable Bluetooth connectivity on any phone that is still capable. Yes, there is a multi-point connectivity, but when I do my old work, I am not going to buy a pair of new earphones.
What do you think about this new Bluetooth tile behavior?

Thankfully, the expression update of Android 16 effectively restores an one-tap togle for Bluetooth. All you have to do is tap on Bluetooth tile to quickly enable or disable connectivity. Meanwhile, holding the results of the tile, now the familiar pop-up menu. If you have found a large Bluetooth tile (as seen in another screenshot above), you can especially tap the Bluetooth icon to toggle connectivity, while tapping the area outside the icon will summon the pop-up menu.
In a clean touch, catching any part of the big tile takes you connected devices The section of your settings menu for even more connectivity options. I also like to see the name and battery percentage of coupled accessory within the tile. In contrast, Android scins Usually showing the secondary names, but display its battery level in the status bar (if they show it at all).
I am really happy to see this change, however, it makes it already for less annoying experience when I am juggling Bluetooth earphones on various devices. Now, my next hope is to divide the Internet tile for Google and once again to make us toes different Wi-Fi and mobile data. But I can be in minority with this request.
